The Capisterre Master Artist Series brings together distinguished musicians, educators, producers, composers, arrangers, conductors, and industry leaders from across the Caribbean and beyond. Each Master Artist shares the knowledge, philosophy, and experience gained through decades of professional performance and artistic leadership, giving students an opportunity to learn directly from those who have shaped the region's musical landscape.

Creating music that is unmistakably Caribbean… and unmistakably your own. Great compositions are more than melodies and harmonies. They tell stories, preserve culture, and give voice to a people. This masterclass explores the art of composing and arranging music that honours the rich musical traditions of the Caribbean while embracing the possibilities of contemporary music. Through live score demonstrations, creative analysis, listening sessions, and practical arranging techniques, students will discover how to transform simple musical ideas into compelling works for soloists, vocal ensembles, bands, and contemporary ensembles. From shaping memorable melodies and crafting effective harmonies to building texture, rhythm, and emotional impact, participants will gain insight into the creative decisions that bring music to life.

Gairy Knight
Gairy Knight is a composer, arranger, and jazz pianist. In his earliest days performing, he won the very first Junior Calypso Monarch show in St. Kitts. He has since arranged music for the famed Ellie Matt and the G.I.'s Brass Band and countless others. He has been the resident choral conductor for the CFBC Choral Ensemble for multiple decades, and has also served as a piano tutor and CXC examiner for many years, instructing others on honing their craft.

Ronald "Boo" Hinkson
Ronald "Boo" Hinkson is a St. Lucian composer, producer, and heralded guitarist whose distinctive signature sound blends jazz and Caribbean music. Raised on Ellington, Davis, and Coltrane, he founded the Tru-Tones — a group that commanded stages locally and internationally for two decades, including an appearance at Super Bowl XIII. He has shared the stage with Al Jarreau, India Arie, Earl Klugh, George Benson, and Grover Washington, with performances aired on BBC, BET Jazz, and Bravo TV.

This masterclass explores the lifelong pursuit of musical excellence through disciplined practice, artistic curiosity, stylistic understanding, and thoughtful interpretation. Drawing on the traditions of the world's great concert pianists, participants will discover how technical mastery becomes the foundation for authentic musical expression and enduring artistic impact. Through performance, discussion, and critical listening, students will examine what separates accomplished musicians from truly distinguished artists.

Glen Inanga
Nigerian-born pianist Glen Inanga has performed as a soloist on the world's most important stages. Following his graduation from Clare College, Cambridge University, where he read Engineering, Glen Inanga studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in 2003. In February 2004, as co-Artistic Director, he launched the first ever Cayman Arts Festival in the Cayman Islands. Glen Inanga is a great pioneer of Nigerian classical music and has worked closely with Nigerian composers, including Prof. Akin Euba, performing at his Symposium "Composition in Africa" at Cambridge University in 2005.
